Q Can I drive to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route and Ogizawa by rental car?
Yes — you can drive your rental car to the Ogizawa car park (the Nagano-side entrance to the Alpine Route). However, private vehicles are not permitted beyond Ogizawa. From there, you board the electric bus to Kurobe Dam and continue on the Alpine Route's dedicated transport. The drive from central Omachi to Ogizawa takes approximately 25 minutes.
Q Can I rent a car in winter? Do the vehicles have snow tires?

Q Can foreign visitors (tourists) rent a car?
Yes. Visitors with a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) based on the 1949 Geneva Convention are welcome. Please bring your original IDP and passport. Visitors from Taiwan, Germany, France, and certain other countries may drive with their national license and an official Japanese translation — please check our How to Rent page for details.
Q Is there a pick-up or drop-off service from Shinano-Omachi Station?
Our shop is only a 2-minute walk from Shinano-Omachi Station, so most guests walk over easily. We also offer a paid shuttle service to and from Hakuba, Matsumoto, and other nearby areas (advance booking required).
Q How do I pay? Can I just show up on the day?
Payment is by online payment only. Please submit a booking request through our online form, and we'll send you a confirmation email with a secure payment link. Your reservation is confirmed once payment is complete. Walk-in rentals on the day are not available, so please book in advance.
