Thank you for choosing Omachi Rent a Car. Please read the following terms and policies carefully before booking. They apply to both the Shinano-Omachi Station Branch and the Omachi Onsenkyo Branch.

Driving licences and eligibility
Anyone holding a licence that is valid in Japan may rent from us, with no upper or lower age limit on the rental itself. You must present the original licence on the day of collection — photocopies and photographs are not accepted.

An International Driving Permit (IDP)
The IDP must be issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention. Permits issued under the 1968 Vienna Convention are not valid in Japan. Digital copies are not accepted — please bring the original paper booklet.

A foreign licence with an official Japanese translation
Holders of licences from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Slovenia, Monaco and Taiwan may drive with the original licence plus an official Japanese translation (no IDP required).
Please note, however, that all insurance and coverage applies only to drivers aged 21 and over. Drivers under 21 will not be covered in the event of an accident.

Booking and cancellation policy
Cancellation fees
If you need to cancel, please let us know as early as possible. The following fees apply.

Insurance, coverage and NOC
You can choose from the following plans. All insurance and coverage applies only to drivers aged 21 and over.

⚠️ About the ¥100,000 excess on Plan B
Plan B covers vehicle repair costs, but the ¥100,000 excess remains payable by the renter. In a single-vehicle accident you may be asked to pay up to ¥100,000 towards repairs. We recommend Plan C (vehicle cover plus NOC waiver), which has neither an excess nor an NOC.

Non-operation charge (NOC)
A charge towards lost business when an accident, breakdown or soiling means the car has to be repaired or cleaned. It is waived under Plan C.

Rules of use and returns
Fuel
Cars are supplied with a full tank and must be returned full. If the tank is not full we will calculate and charge for the fuel using our standard formula.
Parking fines
If a parking fine is left unpaid, we will charge ¥25,000.
No smoking, no pets
All our cars are non-smoking and pets are not allowed. A cleaning fee will be charged if smoking or pet transport is detected.
Returns and extensions
Returning the car after the agreed time incurs an extension charge. If you are going to be significantly delayed, please contact us as soon as possible.

The booking form is open 24 hours; replies are sent during opening hours (8:00–18:00). Payment is by online credit card only, and all rentals must be booked in advance.
